The Big Heat [1988] (product link) Action/Adventure / Crime Extremely violent even for Hong Kong standards, but all the better for it. Waise Lee stars as a cop battling against the odds and the surprisingly vengeful baddies. The shootouts are better than in most other Heroic Bloodshed films.
The One Armed Boxer (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Classic action with Wang Yu. This is the type of seventies action I yearn for. The basis for the one-armed fighter has always seemed silly but the action is well directed and the film is entertaining throughout. Wang Yu seems to have given himself too many villains to fight come the last scene!
Home Of A Villain (product link) Triad / Drama Better than I thought it would be. Ray Lui stars as a man in search of redemption before he dies from cancer.
This is a family drama with a couple of action moments to spice things up, and it was well acted.
