Chinese Super Ninja (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure This is one of my favorite films. It's about this martial arts clan who are given a challenge by the 5 element ninjas after defeating a samurai from a rival clan. Of course the martial arts clan lose and are wiped out by the ninjas. one man survives and learns ninjistu from some old master and takes revenge. A lot of fights and all of it good. No doubt one of the best.
Return Of The 5 Deadly Venoms (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Aside from "Five Deadly Venoms", this is by far the greatest Venoms film ever made (in my opinion, that is--I don't care what you like). Great kung fu action, the crippled concept is original and innovative and the story is great.
Legendary Weapons Of China (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Other than "8 Diagram Pole Fighter", this is the best Lau Kar Leung film ever made. Great comedic story and really great fight scenes.
The Heroic Ones (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Epic war kung fu movie. One of my favorite Chang Cheh films. The fights are bloody and brutal and the story is great.
Executioners From Shaolin (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Overrated or not, this is a great film. Excellent story with some great fights. Pai Mei rules.

It is overrated, you are right about that. However the fights are slow and boring.
The Blade (product link) Swordplay/Sword(s) / Action/Adventure The greatest Tsui Hark film. The final fight scene is the best fight scene ever made. The story is really good.
The One Armed Swordsman (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure I love Chang Cheh's 60's wuxia pien films with Jimmy Wang Yu. They are among my favorites of the whole Chinese cinema. "One Arm" is the best of them all, with a great story and fights that are just cool.

I agree , Jimmy Wang Yu clearly demonstrates his great acting skills and charisma in Chang Cheh's 60's wuxia, this and its sequel being the best!
The Flying Guillotine (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure A cult classic. The fights aren't the best, but the idea of a flying guillotine is very exuberant. I love it. The story is great--one of the best in Shaw movie cinema.
Invincible Pole Fighter (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure A ton of spear and pole fighting action and all of it is choreographed to perfection. And the story is very angry (most likely because this was Fu Sheng's last film he made), but very sufficient. One of my favorites.
Five Deadly Venoms (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure "Five Deadly Venoms" is my top 10 favorite kung fu movie (if not movie) of all time. I like the movie because of the mystery and the clever characters. The Five Venoms Clan idea is great. The fights were good too.

He is my top-5 favorite directors of all time! "Story Of Ricky" is definitely one of the goriest films ever made! It ranks with Peter Jackson's "Dead Alive" among others! The fights were awesome and the story is original!

Calling this Takashi Miike's best film ever is roughly akin to Uwe Boll calling Bloodrayne his best movie ever. Miike is a hack who is fawned over by people still mesmerized by the supposedly exotic nature of Japan. This movie is pure garbage.
Killer's Nocturne (product link) Crime / Drama "Killer's Nocture" is one of Nam Nai Choi's more serious films before he started doing the awesome weirdo films like "Seventh Curse" or "Story of Ricky". This movie is about a kid whose father is coerced toward suicide after being beaten and humiliated by a gangster leader in a (Chinese) gambling game. He now lives in total misery after a girl he fell in love with gets killed and is forced to leave the country. He must now habituate gambling and seek revenge against his father. (Forgive my silliness of telling the plot line.) The story is really good. There are moments of ridiculousness, like when the kid fights a kangaroo, and some of the death scenes are funny--violent on the level of "Seventh Curse", but funny. The action was good as well. I totally recommend this one.
Men From The Gutter (product link) Crime / Thriller This is one of the best films ever. This movie has a ton of action with a lot of blood. It's a complex yet understandable story about these cops on the hunt for a hitman who is seeking revenge against a triad gang. This film is directed by Lam Nai Choi ("Story Of Ricky"), who is now one of my all time favorite directors. I really must recommend this movie. It's fast-paced, a bit weird, with bloody and well choreographed action and editing (it won an award for best editing from some trivial movie awards thing).
Avenging Warriors Of Shaolin (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Another great Venoms film (hear an echo??) about three working-class chums who all are kung fu masters who help an icon Shaolin rebel from the evil Lu Feng and his band of weirdos. Great fights and the story is tolerable.
Shaolin Challenges Ninja (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure The movie that started the whole ninja thing in China (I believe). Regardeless, this is yet another great movie by Lau Kar Leung. I like the fact that they cast Japanese actors and martial artist to played the fighting opponents for Gordon Liu. All the fights were great as usual.
The only other movie to ever give me a kind of feeling that is unexplainable and ecstatic was "Tetsuo: The Iron Man". This movie achieved that feeling with such asperity. But the thing I hate about this movie is the logic of suicide. There is no logic in suicide. You simply die. I can never see the beauty in deaths like these Mansonites in this film. If you kill yourself, you die.
But despite my slant on things this film was a mind bender, very original and bloody. But this film does get to me, and 80% of it would have to do with the fact that I had a music partner who threw himself of a bridge. I don't take death too well, even with my animals.
The Trail Of The Broken Blade (product link) Swordplay/Sword(s) / Martial Arts Nothing beats a 60's classic Jimmy Wang Yu and Chang Cheh film. I love these films for the bloody swordfights and the great stories and cinematography and this one has it in spades.
Mad Monkey Kung Fu (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Although the kung fu action is a bit lacking, the story does more than make up for it. This movie has great comedy, drama and the fights were good.
The Kid With The Golden Arm (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Rates number 7 as one of my favorite Venoms films ever. The fights were a bit too choreographed, but overall the movie was a cult classic. I love this stuff.
Lightning Kung Fu (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure You really must see the remastered Chinese-language version of this film. The subtitles, the picture and widescreen format is what makes this film much better from the crappy fullscreen dub versions. This film I loved.
The Invincible Armour (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure This movie is a classic film. The only thing I hate was the agitating English dubbing.
Drive (product link) Action/Adventure / Martial Arts Before "Rush Hour", before "Matrix" (I only assume), there was "Drive". This movie is crazier than hell, but a lot of fun. The fights were well choreographed and the story is surprisingly great. Actors good and blah blah blah.
The Sword Stained With Royal Blood [1981] (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Kinda lacks in kung fu action, and there is too much chatter, but still this is a great movie. The fights were good and the story is good.
Human Lanterns (product link) Horror / Thriller Beautiful and grizzly. this movie is a work of art. I could ask for more explicit gore and blood; but other than that, the story is good, cinematography is perfect, and the fights are great.
The Flag Of Iron (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure One of my top 5 favorite Venoms films. Sufficient mystery story (kind of) with great characters, costumes, and bad-ass martial arts fighting.
Stroke Of Death (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Nothing but kung fu action. Literally. The story is simple yet not gratifying, but the fights are excellent, ranging from gibbon fist to pole fighting to other stuff.
Dirty Ho (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure A great blend of comedy and action. I love the idea of stealth kung fu. All the fights were good.
The Ghost Snatchers (product link) Ghost / Horror Another great weirdo film by Nam Nai Choi, who directed "Story Of Ricky". The movie is like "Ghostbusters" on crack with some cute puppetry and bloody scenes.
Opium And The Kung-Fu Master (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure I bought into the idea that this film was grand. And I'm glad I did. This movie is one of the best Shaw Brothers has to offer. Great dramatization dealing with opium addiction, excellent fights, and Ti Lung is a great actor (normally I wouldn't care for one's ability to act).
Killer Army [Ground Zero] (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure [Warning: Contains Spoilers.] This movie has a lot of fights, and all were good. The story is maliciously good. My favorite scene is in the middle, when Sun Chien betrays the heroes. That threw me off.
Masked Avengers (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure This movie is kind of like "Five Deadly Venoms"--clever, creative and mysterious. This movie is very virulent and nuts, but this is one of my favorite Venoms films ever. Great fights and good story.

We're Going To Eat You (product link) Horror / Comedy This is one of the most demented films ever made! Picture Italian horror meets Chinese kung fu with slapstick comedy and you got "We're Gonna Eat You"! One of Tsui Hark's earliest films (second I believe) about a cop and robber on an island who find themselves in a village full of cannibals! The gore is as good as an 80's Chinese horror film will get and it's pretty good! The fights were good!
