WHAT FILM DOES ONE WANT TO REMAKE? (43 views)AUTHOR /

Oh my GOD!!!! No Top 5 idiocy?? Get the morphine for Slave’s brain. };op

What film would I remake? Remakes 95% of the time suck fat. I mean there is a plague of insipid horror film remakes like Dawn Of The Dead, Friday the 13th, Texan Chainsaw Massacre (oh GOD don’t get me started) and so forth. Good remakes in “za” 5 percentage, for example, would be crap like John Carpenter’s The Thing or David Cronenberg’s The Fly or the last greatest was Tsui Hark’s The Blade. Why they are so good is because they are better and visually different from the original (well maybe not The Blade ‘cause One Armed Swordsman ruled ass).

The film that comes closest to a Slave’s perception of reformulating a classic into a better authentic and gripping aspect is the Charles Bronson film “Death Wish”. Why? Because, in this film, I felt explaining one’s nihilistic killing spree upon the scum-sucking dogs of society should have been more philosophical and verbal (and at the same time sarcastically more violent and bloody) while the film Death Wish itself felt a little dry. It’s technically a revenge film but in an irrational state of being because Charles is just killing random people in general as a reaction from his wife’s death and his daughter’s rape by the sickness in society without a sense of logic rather than seeking out the ones who done him wrong but I think it was right to approach it this way because it adds a sense of reality into film but I prefer to be more absurd approach ‘cause it brings an insurmountable amount of entertainment value. ‘GASP’! }:Q

Charles Bronson’s actions/reactions should have come with words of reason why one must annihilate the scum of the earth. Take this bit of dialogue in which I wrote just as I’m typing this: “The sickness rots me from the inside out. This disease perpetuates and continues to spread like a plague. The only way to hinder this complacent malevolence is with another kind of evil - - an evil with common sense so that the parasitic flesh will stop feasting upon those who just want consciousness in their own futile existence. (Insert the Ren and Stempy “Happy Happy Joy Joy song” here)

HMMMAAAHAAAHAHAHAH!” And so forth. Where this is implemented, I do not know but it wouldn’t be wise to say this crap before or after killing his prey.

So there. :P

#2 Instead of remaking Death Wish, just go watch Vigilante. It's the same plot, but with Robert Forster. Badass.TheDenizen

#3 Robert Forster! Bad ass. "Taken" was another good recent vigilante pic. Stupid, but fun in its ballsiness.Choco

#4 Stop me if you've heard this but I would remake " Enter The Dragon ". I know, a very ambitious project for what is generally considered Bruce Lee's best film, however with the technology of today, it could be done. The question of course is what martial artist of today could be cast in the role that immortalized Bruce Lee in the eyes of Western audiences.Sgt. T

#5 Charles Bronson is more bad ass than Robert Forster but of course I'm being hypothetical cuz I've never seen Vigilante. :)slave 2 (the ressurection)

#6 Bronson is in the Top Five of my Top Ten list for Badass Western/Action actors! Robert Forster is good but at times not as quietly hard edged as Charles Bronson.Sgt. T
