| Not film-related, but definitely blog-worthy. I just got back from a long-weekend trip to Cedar Point in Ohio, and it was impossibly fun. They are known for the quantity and quality of their roller coasters, with many that were or still are record breakers. Anyway, it was a solid weekend of riding the world's best coasters with hardly any lines because everyone's back in school now. The unquestionable highlights were:
1. Millennium Force. Starts off with a 300-foot drop and goes over 90 mph. Super smooth ride, lots of banked turns. Best coaster I've ever ridden.
2. Top Thrill Dragster. Accelerates from 0-120 mph in 4 seconds, goes straight vertical up a 400-foot hill, over the top, and straight back down the other side. Unlike any other sensation you've ever had. Totally exhilarating.
3. Maverick. Their newest coaster, built in mid-2007. Features a 95-degree first drop (yes, that's slightly inverted) and then a barrage of craziness that keeps you surprised and grinning like an ass for the duration. Definitely not for the easily nauseated. :)
Plus so much more! I had a total blast. You gotta' get out there yourselves if you love coasters. | Choco 9/29/2009 8:59 AM |
