| HKFLIX SITE FEATURE REQUESTS? (187 views) | AUTHOR / DATE |
| We've gotten some really cool feedback from you guys already, but I just wanted to officially start a post here so that people can share their ideas and requests for new features on the HKFlix site.
We're also interested in any constructive criticism you may have--aspects of the site that are confusing or that you feel could be improved.
We're here, so holler any time. | Choco 9/26/2008 1:43 PM |
| #2 | My one and only complaint with this fantastic site is needing to log in whenever I leave a session or am idle too long. I'd love change in cookie behavior to stay logged in. | Lewis 9/28/2008 3:27 AM |
| #3 | Okay, I think we've got this squared away now. You may have to log out and back in for it to take effect. Let me know if you experience any problems. | Choco 9/28/2008 10:28 AM |
| #4 | Excellent, that seems work great! | Lewis 9/28/2008 6:12 PM |
| #5 | "seems -to- work great" | Lewis 9/28/2008 9:51 PM |

| #8 | Not a request, but more of a question.
Sometimes when I post replies to discussion topics, they are added right away, but other times, I get the "This message is pending approval" note in place of my post.
What are the criteria upon which the site decides to post something right away of flag it for approval? | TheDenizen 10/2/2008 9:25 AM |
| #9 | There's just basically a keyword filter that looks for curse words, html code, and certain other potential red flags for inappropriate content. So far every single post has been approved, but that's just a safety step we built in.
Has it hampered your ability to participate? Maybe that's something we can re-evaluate. | Choco 10/2/2008 10:47 AM |
| #10 | nope, just curious why some posts were added right away and some not. Thanks for clearing it up. | TheDenizen 10/2/2008 11:45 AM |
| #11 | How bout adding a feature to go to your blog and discussion posts within your profile? | ol skee 10/7/2008 6:58 PM |
| #12 | All the blogs and discussions you've started or replied to are listed under the "blogs" and "discussions" tab in your profile. Or am I misunderstanding what you're asking? Let me know. | Choco 10/7/2008 10:36 PM |
| #13 | You are right. I dont know why I didn't think to look there. Thanks | ol skee 10/10/2008 4:02 PM |
| #14 | Terrific. Any other suggestions or requests, just say the word. Would love to hear what you'd like to see at HKFlix. | Choco 10/10/2008 9:24 PM |
| #15 | On DVDs listed as "Limited Availability", it would be nice to see the number of DVDs actually left in stock. Something like "Only 2 left" or "452 units left", etc. That way, if a DVD is on my wishlist, I can better prioritize it and know when I need to order it. | WuxiaFan 10/28/2008 10:01 AM |
| #16 | Another suggestion: It would be nice to be able to add items to a pending order that has not shipped yet. Similar to being able to cancel items that haven't shipped yet.
THANKS! You guys are awesome anyway! | WuxiaFan 10/28/2008 10:05 AM |
| #17 | WuxiaFan, thanks for the suggestions, they're both good ones.
I agree that may be helpful to see if items are "low stock", but generally we carry low stock of most titles; and aside from big new releases we mostly just sell smallish quantities of most films in our huge catalog. It's the size of our catalog that makes it profitable, rather than the popularity of a given DVD. Hope that makes sense. The short answer is: order your limited availability titles as soon as you can. :)
As for the suggestion to modify orders...there are a bunch of reasons why we really don't want to encourage this. But one reason is our shipping policies, which allow for a flat rate fee regardless of order size. If people could keep orders open indefinitely and add to them, they'd never have to pay shipping. That would be awesome if we could afford it, but we're already losing money on shipping every day, so... :(
Thanks for the ideas. Please keep 'em coming! | Choco 10/28/2008 10:13 AM |
| #18 | Choco quick question why are the on order dvd's like Woman Avenger, Shaolin Plot, Everlasting Chivalry still not in stock? I have been waiting for these features for months now. Are they out of print or what? | Kung Fu Classic Viewer 10/29/2008 9:14 AM |
| #19 | I'll check with our UK distributor and get back to you via email. | Choco 10/29/2008 9:20 AM |
| #20 | Cool. Thanks. | Kung Fu Classic Viewer 10/29/2008 12:45 PM |
| #21 | Just an idea, but how about seeing our profile pic up in the corners of our posted reviews? When a bunch get posted at once, it'd be easier to pick out my fave reviewers at a glance. Plus it would look cool :D | TheDenizen 12/4/2008 2:33 PM |
| #22 | Great idea, but do you think it might get confusing for some users to see graphics from one film in a review from another film? | Choco 12/4/2008 3:07 PM |
| #23 | Yeah that occurred to me after I posted...I forget that our little avatar pics are DVD covers :P I just think of you as Yang Brother #5, Sgt T is Bruce Lee, Mad Monkey is Hsaio Ho, etc. etc. Nevermind :D | TheDenizen 12/4/2008 4:10 PM |
| #24 | Oh well. Good idea tho. Keep 'em coming! :) | Choco 12/4/2008 4:19 PM |
| #25 | It would be helpful if you could edit some of your previous posts. I don't type as well as I'd like to and even though I re-read before I post, sometimes a typo slips by. | William Giordanella 12/22/2008 7:41 PM |
