| I just read that they're remaking "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels". Why? What can I do to stop this? Why on earth would you do that?? The original is PERFECT and not even dated yet. Ugh. | Choco 9/15/2009 6:34 PM |

| #4 | I heard that Leonardo Dicaprio was pulling this together as his second attempt at a live-action Akira. Something about "Dirty Rotten Akira" being a high-concept post-apocalyptic family comedy set in Neo-Tokyo. | Lewis 9/16/2009 1:38 PM |

| #9 | Of course, "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" is a remake of the 1964 Marlon Brando, David Niven film "Bedtime Story," which is not very good, but I like it better than the later film. This is rather like the current uproar over remaking "The Fly." The 1986 David Cronenberg film is extremely good, but it is not a new thing. The original, with David Hedison and Vincent Price, came out in 1958, but it isn't really all that good. Films are good or bad on their own merits, rather than pure originality. That said, I have no faith at all that a remake of "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" will not be trash. | Jeffrey Frawley 10/17/2009 5:38 PM |
