| Choco brought up an interesting idea in another blog. What if someone pulled together a team of most everyone you need behind the scenes and on screen perhaps as well. I really like the idea! I am convinced there is far more talent in movie land than is ever utilized. Go back to the studio system of making movies. Quality and "economy" can go a long way. The budgets are so ridiculous now everyone is scared shitless to do anything original; pablum for the public. When I hear gushing reviews saying "feel good movie of the year, summer, month, day, whatever" I feel violently ill. I personally am sick to death of movies that play it safe to the detriment of the film, indeed the entire film industry! Not to mention the suffering audience.
So here is your opportunity to create your very own studio! No rules but do try to avoid having yourself be the whole team ;)
I have a couple of jobs already filled.
Director: Lau Kar Leung
Action/Martial Arts Choreographer: Hsiao Ho (Hou)
Who is your dream studio team?

Let's just say I like "Story of Ricky" so much I would want to do a ton of movies like it under different conceptions pertaining to bloody violent futuristic kung fu films and have the action be shot like 70's kung fu films. I'd reveal the conception towards thee but I can't so I won't. :) | XslaveX 8/26/2009 6:16 AM |
| #3 | Director: Lau Kar Leung
Action Choreographer: Lau Kar Wing
Cinematographer: Undecided, but it has to be someone who understands Hung Gar well enough to maintain the action in frame in full figure

Of course, it's already been done: "Legendary Weapons of China" and "18 Diagram Pole Fighter." It just should have been done more often. | Jeffrey Frawley 8/26/2009 5:55 PM |

Stars: Kara Hui Ying-Hung, Gordon Liu, Hsiao Ho, and Leung Kar-Yan
I don't care what the story is as long as Kara Hui is the star and she gets to kick tons of ass. | Choco 8/27/2009 10:33 AM |
| #5 | I can't say it any better than Choco has, though I might be tempted to throw Ti Lung into the acting mix as well. | TheDenizen 8/27/2009 10:57 AM |

| #7 | I'm going to bow to Choco's wisdom. The project would be much improved by the addition of Kara Hui (who is much easier on the eyes than any of the Lau brothers). | Jeffrey Frawley 8/29/2009 9:17 AM |
