 WHAT'S YOUR HOME THEATER SETUP? (54 views)AUTHOR /

Garvinstomp's post about a tiny-ass 4:3 TV that inappropriately cuts off half the picture inspired me. What's your setup? Here's mine...

- Panasonic PT-AE900U Projector, ~6-foot screen

- Denon AVR-3803 receiver

- Vandersteen 2CE Signature main speakers

- Big-Ass homemade subwoofer that's as big as a mini-fridge! :)

I'm a movie fanatic, so I decided on a projector rather than a "TV" for that more realistic cinema feel (and size!), and I really love it.

You?

#2 36" 16X9 flatscreen, I think it's actually a PC monitor made by Viewsonic. It's about as big as will reasonably fit in my apartment. Any bigger and I'd have to sit in the other room to watch it :)

I have the audio output through my stereo system as well, no subwoofer though. Not sure of the actual specs on it, but it's much better sound than the TV speakers.

Totally jealous of Choco's 6' screen. :P

#3 Actually, one of the reasons I decided to get a projector was that (at least at the time) it cost a lot less than a large flat-screen TV. Plus it happens to be huge and kick ass. :) But it's actually a modest investment compared to the alternatives. I always try to suggest that people consider a projector if their focus is strongly on movies--it's not great for TV or if you can't get (or don't want) your viewing room very dark.Choco

#4 19" Realistic Color TV from Radioshack. Dual VHS/BETAMAX deck and wood paneling speaker box with electric tape connected speaker wire. I believe Im getting at least stereo sound. =) I hope to get a laserdisc player soon; then maybe a DVD player one day. City On Fire
