ALL ABOUT THE PANASONIC DVD-S47S For $20 more than the DVD-S27, you get DVD-Audio playback. However, keep in mind that Panasonic stupidly supports only 2-channel DVD-Audio playback. If you want true DVD-Audio, we recommend a JVC or Malata. For $20 more, the DVDF87 is available, adding 5-disc convenience and numerous other step-up improvements. We've modified this unit via hardware and firmware to play any region DVD. This region-free DVD player can play PAL and NTSC DVDs, but it does not have a built in converter, so you will need a multi-system monitor/TV to be able to play both PAL and NTSC DVDs. For example, if you live in the USA, you will only be able to view PAL Region-2 DVDs from Europe if your monitor/TV can display a PAL signal.
